| HebrewInterpreter Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ashi Fachler, and I am lead interpreter at HebrewInterpreter.com, a San Diego-based Hebrew/English Interpretation company. Qualified interpreters and translators My research suggests that Registered Court Interpreters and medical, business and legal interpreters for Hebrew are quite rare. This is because many Israelis speak some English, and because Hebrew speakers tend to use (unqualified) family members and friends as interpreters. Either way, experience proves that considerable damage can be caused when someone who is not qualified attempts to interpret at a court session, business meeting or medical appointment. I came across an example where a Hebrew-speaking mother took her young son along as an interpreter when she went to a medical appointment. The son could not accurately interpret all that was said in the exam room, and there was a real danger that some potentially critical, even life-saving information, was missed. Help with Hebrew This is where my services can be of assistance. As a Registered Hebrew Interpreter for the Judicial Council of California, I accompany the Hebrew speaker to a court hearing (interpreters may also be independently provided by the court), deposition, medical appointment or business meeting. Bound by a strict code of ethics, I am committed to providing an honest translation of what is said in both English and Hebrew. Interpreter Credentials My credentials for offering Hebrew/English Interpretation Services are that I am totally bilingual and a Registered Interpreter with years of experience. I was born in London, lived in Israel for 25 years, and for the past 11 years I have been a resident of San Diego, California. During my army service with the (Israel Defense Force) IDF, I was a Communications Expert, and I am completely familiar with customs, traditions, and the culture of modern-day Israeli life, Jewish life, and contemporary American life. My Orthodox upbringing has made me sensitive to Jewish and religious practices. As a college instructor at the San Diego Community College District Adult Education Career Center, teaching cutting edge Web Design and Computer Graphics, I am also well acquainted with current business and commercial trends. I am also a Berlitz (Bowne Global Solutions) Interpreter, working in Immigration Courts as a Hebrew/English interpreter and I do volunteer work with AT&T Language Line, assisting as a phone interpreter, in case of emergencies (this system is used by the Highway Patrol, hospitals and other facilities and agencies in need of emergency language solutions). As a member of NAJIT (National Association of Judicial Interpreters and Translators) I stay abreast on issues regarding interpretation, the courts and immigration laws. Help with Hebrew translation and interpretation We look forward to being of service to you.
